ROLL the DACE

Created for Fishblade 2023 Game Jam. Inspired by the "River King" video game series, a game series I have never seen any gameplay of, and have only ever seen the boxart for.

Welcome to the annual “Roll the Dace” fishing competition! Catch fish and earn points to win. But it isn’t just about who can catch the biggest and best fish. Embody the spirit of the game. Taunt your opponents. Bargain points. Form alliances. Bet your life savings. Do some light sabotage. Get creative.

This is where men (gender neutral) are made.

"Roll the Dace" is a competitive communal game. Players roleplay fishermen trying to reach the designated amount of points. To play you need one or more friends, a sheet of rules for each player or a way to record individual points/info, and two sets of 7 polyhedral dice (d4, d6, d8, 2d10, d12, and d20).

One set of dice are your available fishing poles, the other set of dice are the pools of water you're fishing in. You can forgo the fishing pole all together and use the BLADE, an optional mechanic that completely changes how you play the game!
